I love being a mom!

Today has been a rather good day. Little Caleb only got up once last night to eat. It was so refreshing to get those extra few hours of deep sleep. We got up this morning and at David's request, made pancakes for everyone.
I was able to do some crafting today as well! I put up a strand of Christmas lights in David and Caleb's room today as well. They love being in there and looking at the sparkling lights. I made up a batch of salt ornaments. Tomorrow we will paint them and hang them up. It was so sticky getting them put together. I'm glad that David was watching a show while they were rolled out.

Tomorrow is David's birthday! I can't believe it! He will be 3 years old already. Where has the time gone. It seems like I was bringing him home from the hospital just the other day. I was so worried about taking care of such a small little guy. I would stress over David alot. He came home with jondace. We had to take him into the lab everyday and get blood work done to see if he had to stay under the billi lights. It was so much work! I'm so glad it didn't last long. Now 3 years later he is such a big boy! David loves to help me with anything I am doing. His thing lately is riding his bike around the house with Caleb chasing him down. Occasionally David will almost run Caleb over but it has not happened yet!
Caleb is my little shadow. He will follow me or David all over the house. If I leave the front room and go down to my room or the bathroom soon there will be a little banging on the door. It's Caleb! He loves to chase things around. His main thing today was an ornament that he found to chase down.

I love being a mom!

Josiah hasn't been feeling that well for about a week now. I wish he could just stay in bed for a day and get better. But he has work to do and dosn't even want to stay in bed all day. He has this hacking cough that keeps him up sometimes. I feel so bad for him! Maybe he will be able to rest more tomorrow. I plan on taking the boys to story time. Then we will see how the weather is and maybe do a park too.
We are doing a party for David on Saturday. I am excited and kinda nervous too. I know that we will all have a great time and everything will work out, but at the same time I'm still nervous. We will see how it goes! It will be at a park so that takes a bunch of stress off me, no clean up for all the kids running around and I don't have to worry about that many games. If you have seen our apartment you would agree that a park is the best place to have this! :) After David's party there is a ward party. I'm excited for this! Josiah has the day off so he will be able to go to both things. Yea!

Christmas time

It's Christmas time again! Today we put up our tree. For some reason it looks really good this year. Maybe because I had help from Josiah and David, maybe because I wanted it to be special for Caleb's first Christmas. Either way it looks really good. I was even able to put up a nativity set, on top of one of my book shelfs.
David's birthday is only a few days away! I can't believe that my little baby boy will be turning 3 in five days! Where has the time gone? And now I have an almost 8 month old. Where did the time go with him too?!
We will be having a little party for David. It will be car themed (like the movie cars). Should be lots of fun! We will go to the park and play and have cake and icecream and just enjoy hanging out with friends. It will be our last get together thing with some people before we leave the ward.
Oh ya, we are moving onto a family ward in January. I am super nervous, scared and almost not wanting to go. But we need to move on since there is no primary at the ward we are in now. David needs to go into primary soon. I hope we will be able to make new friends there. I will miss seeing all the people I know in my current ward each week. We will have to do get togethers or something. This is just one more step in growing up I guess.p

Lazy day

Today seems to be a lazy day.
This morning we sent out a package to Josiah's sister. She is on a mission in Brazil! So far away. We were able to send a small package to her. You could fit 3 DVDs and a candy bar in there. Not very much room at all. We were able to fit some things that she wanted and that is too expensive to buy over there. I hope everything gets to her!
On the way to the post office we saw a new store on the Blvd. It looked kinda fun from the outside so when Josiah went in to mail the package I took the kids and walked down to the new store. It was good to get out and stretch my legs. The new store is just a continuation Urban Renewal. It was fun to go in there and lose myself just looking at everything. I got so many new ideas for crafts! There were some picture hanging things that looked like something I could make. Josiah found an accordion that looked fun. But it was wayyyy to much for us.
At the moment Caleb is sleeping, David is watching a show and Josiah is at work. I also has a load of laundry in! Time for a break!?! I think so.
I did a little craft project last night after the kids went to bed. I cut the letters J O Y out of an old cereal box and wrapped Christmas yarn colors around each one. Now to find the perfect spot to hang them. I won't be putting up the Christmas tree till after David's birthday later this month. It will need to be up off the floor so that Caleb doesn't get into it!
This Christmas I'm doing a count down with books for David to read. I've wrapped up 25 books. Some Christmas and some are his favorite ones to read. Each night before bed David gets to choose a present to unwrap and then we go read that book. So far he really likes it! I also have a felt Christmas tree that he gets to pick out a ornament and put that on the tree too, to help count down the day to Christmas.
I sure do love being a stay at home mom. I get to do all these fun crafts with David and some day Caleb too when he gets a bit older. I am so blessed that Josiah is able to work and let me stay at home with my wonderful boys.
So, today is a wonderful lazy day and I love it! :)

Thanksgiving

This year we had Thanksgiving at our home. It was so fun to have family over. My family was able to come on Wednesday and spend Thanksgiving with us. We started cooking, and putting together the food for tomorrow. It was good that I had help with dinner. I went to get something out of the pantry and a bottle of syrup dropped on my pinky toe! It is still bruised and hurts but doesn't look like it was broken.

Thanksgiving day was very busy but lots of fun. My mom and I started out making pies. We had 4 different types. Apple, cherry, pumpkin and banana cream. After the pies were almost done we started on everything else.
I did a fun project with David. We made pumpkin scented play dough. It is safe to eat and smells great. It was super easy to make.
We didn't do any of the black Friday sales, which was fine with me! We were able to sleep in on Friday and just enjoy the company we had. I did go to one store and got 4 toys for less then $20. So the boys will have something for Christmas. :)
Caleb is starting to rock back and forth on his knees and arms. David's favorite thing right now is Mickey Mouse Club House. It's fun to watch these boys grow up! I can't believe that almost 7 months ago Caleb was born. Crazy that the time has gone by so fast!

Festival of Trees

We went to the festival of trees on Saturday. I had never been before. It was so amazing to see all the different types of decorations that were put on trees. There was one tree that was decorated with legos. I think David liked that one the most. My favorite was one that was decorated to look like Paris. I'll have to post a picture when I get to the computer. It was so much fun. There are not just trees at this festival. They had all sizes of trees and people dancing on the stage and all kinds of fun things to look at. We went on a scavenger hunt for mice. They were hidden all over the festival. We found half of them.
After the festival on Saturday we went to hang out with Rico and Tessa Rosales. They live up north right now but came to St. George to celebrate Rico's birthday. We went and saw their cute little boy Ezra. He is only 11 weeks old and so very cute! I wish we would have taken a picture with them.
We had one more thing to go to after hanging out with the Rosales. We went to a baby shower for Melissa Sly from our ward. She is having twin boys in 2 months. I had such a fun time at her shower. If you brought some diapers you were entered for a chance to win a gift card to Olive Garden. Well, guess who won?!? I DID!!! I never win anything! I will be using that for a date night with my wonderful husband one of there days.
We are super excited to be hosting Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year. I'm still not sure how to cook everything and how to present it all, but it should work out great. My family from Cedar City will be coming down on Wednesday and stay till Friday. We are so excited to have them here.
Caleb is starting to army crawl/ real crawl. It is so cute. He props himself up on one elbow to look around and see if anyone is looking then starts crawling again. His little elbow is getting rug burn from doing that so much.
David is such a helper around the house and loves playing with his brother. He loves it when we run around and have Caleb chase him to his room, and jump on his bed.
